MBUX, the infotainment system from Mercedes-Benz, was first introduced with the A-Class at the beginning of 2018 and became a real success story. It is now available in many other vehicles, such as the S-Class and the EQS, and is continuously improved with every new generation.

In our department, we are responsible for the development of UI software, i.e. the user interface of MBUX. This serves as an interface for customers to interact with MBUX and therefore majorly contributes to the overall user experience of our vehicles. The MBUX software is divided into several domains (e.g. vehicle functions, navigation, telephony, radio, media, ...). Your responsibility will be to own and steer the agile development of the UI Software-layer for the domain Navigation. You will be responsible for the timely and high-quality implementation of the UI parts of MBUX. To achieve this, you will work closely with the UI concept teams, our colleagues from design and the respective teams of other software layers. Our internal and external development teams are spread across various locations, including India, China, Berlin and California.

How will your tasks and daily work look like?

  • Planning of the features to be implemented in accordance to UI concept requirements as well as requirements from the respective telematics and vehicle projects
  • Coordination of the necessary artifacts (i.e. UI concepts & design) while observing relevant timelines
  • Carrying out the necessary technical (i.e. architecture) clarifications for the implementation of the features
  • Execution of agile ceremonies such as backlog reviews, sprint plannings and acceptance tests together with the development teams
  • Experience the developed software during test sessions on test benches and vehicles
  • Take ownership and responsibility for the software scope, considering dependencies and relationships within the software stack
  • Strong collaboration with other domains and departments to ensure a consistent MBUX user experience along with focused work on new customer features
